The building has developed along with us, and has a history going back to the 30's as an ice-house serving the farmers and fishermen who came to the area before Lake Travis was formed. Since then, it became the Copperhead Tavern and operated as a bar/restaurant/pool hall until fire consumed most of the building in the 70's. Parts of the building were re-built in the 80's and became an "old hippy hangout" during the late 80's and early 90's.
In 1996 part of the building became the office for the development of NorthLake Hills, an upper-end waterfront development on Lake Travis - which annexed into Jonestown, eventually giving Jonestown an additional 6+ miles of waterfront development on Lake Travis.
2001 saw the birth of The Village at NorthLake, and current plans will add an additional 8+ acres of contiguous development for hotel/condo, retail, office and municipal uses.
Today, Jonestown is a thriving community poised to experience rapid growth as one of Austin's premier neighboring communities.
